New Airport Tax Payable at Mumbai

The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, has approved the levy of Development Fee (IN) for domestic and international passengers departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (BOM) on an ad-hoc basis with effect from 01-04-2009 for a period of 48 months.

Exemptions:
- Infants (children under 2)
- Holder of Diplomatic Passport
- Airline crew on duty
- Persons traveling on flights operated by Indian Armed Forces
- Transit/transfer passengers (less than 6 hrs)
- Involuntary re-routings e.g. due to technical problems or weather conditions
MIAL has informed that they will exempt the fee from passengers who have been ticketed before 9 Mar 2009 and traveling on/after 1 April 2009.
The above fee is inclusive of all taxes and charges.
